My laptop is getting on a bit now and has started developing a few problems. HP 8530P will not boot or boots intermittently. When the power button is pushed the charge light (lightening bolt) flashes 10 times then the little “i” with the circle around it comes on and then goes out. Sometimes I have to remove the power from the laptop and just boot from the battery with similar out come. After the black startup screen it brings me to the Windows startup screen, where the pixels are supposed to come together to form a colored Microsoft flag. I hear the noise of fans quite high for a few seconds then normal. Tried multiple ideas as expressed on these sites, none worked. One site, recommended removing the motherboard and baking it in the oven, as the cause was cracked solder in the connection. Taking this lead, I left my laptop on for 1 hour, restarted it and it rebooted, and is working again. Next day same problem, let it blink for an hour, shut it off, then immediately restart it. Now hesitant to shut it off, this leads me to believe, as the unit heats up thermal expansion completes the connection and allows it to run. This worked for me.
