But I want to know how much money I'm saving by doing so. My build is about $1500.It differs between specific configurations. The best way to see the difference is to get a proposed build on pcpartpicker and then also put in those specs into one of the config build sites (ibuypower, cyberpowerpc, etc) and see the figure yourself.Now, for your build, I see your $1500 budget. What will be using the PC for? What do you already have? Do you have an OS already?

Any other preferences/needs? Is there a Microcenter near you? The more information, the better the builds we propose will work for you! I just went to IbuyPower and did the build your own comp. They can build a comp that is almost as good as the one I'm going to build for about $2000.

So I'm saving about $500 and building something better. Pretty cool.To answer your questions, the PC will be used for general use, gaming, programming, possibly building a website and running SQL Server (not all the time). I don't have an OS yet, nor do I have any other parts except for my HDD in my current desktop that I'll bring over as an extra (second) storage drive. Not looking to cut back, just trying to get the best deal for my parts. I've actually already chosen all my parts and purchased half of them.
